2024 - Five Years Strong

2024 was an interesting year for us as we would see very few opportunities for us to attend many in-person events during the year due to complications with transport and ill-health. As a result, the vast majority of the year was spent networking once more and creating contacts with various museums and companies to improve our area of awareness. In spite of this, we were able to attend one day of the Forties Weekend at Minehead Station on the West Somerset Railway. Although in-person events were very scarce, the number of virtual events increased dramatically, resulting in our most successful year for virtual events that we have had so far. This would see 2024 ending on a positive note in terms of networking and events.

However, 2024 was not to end on a positive overall note. This was due to the us receiving notification of the passing of Mark Talbot, one of the reenactors who we have had the pleasure and honour of having previously worked with back in 2021 and 2022. Although we were unable to attend Mark's final journey and funeral, we extended our deepest sympathies to his family and all reenactors who have had the pleasure and honour to have worked with him. He was an inspiration to many of us and will be greatly missed from the circuit. RIP Mark Talbot, blue skies and fair seas.
